Secrets of Self-Healing
Dr. Maoshing Ni’s latest book Secrets of Self-Healing may prove to be his best yet.
This latest book written by Dr. Maoshing Ni is loaded with information. You do not have to be an acupuncturist or in acupuncture school to get this book. Dr. Ni explains the concepts of Yin & Yang, the five elements, and the constitutional types of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.
Dr. Ni explains the organs of Chinese medicine and how they network with each other. This is a very interesting read and is quite different than Western medicine. For example, Dr. Ni says in his book that if there is an imbalance with your gallbladder, it may express itself in dreams of fighting.
Diagnosis has always been a special art in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. This book reviews signs and symptoms that may reveal specific patterns of disease. This can be done by looking at your face, eyes, tongue, hands, and feet.
The second half of this book goes through over 60 health conditions. Dr. Ni explains all these conditions and follows each one with specific recommendations in diet, home remedies, herbs, supplements, exercise, and even some acupressure points. He also tells you what is best to avoid when you have these conditions.
For many years I have been referencing books by Dr. Maoshing Ni, such as ‘The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine’ and ‘The Tao of Nutrition’. Now it’s time to add another masterpiece written by Dr. Ni to my bookshelf, the Secrets of Self-Healing
