Acupuncture Business Courses for CEU’s
Every year acupuncturists are taking continuing education classes to further their knowledge in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. But due to the large number of acupuncturists that do not have thriving practices and are struggling financially to maintain their acupuncture practice, Acupuncture Business School was formed.
Acupuncture Business School is not your typical acupuncture school where you would go to study and learn to become an acupuncturist, but rather a place for already licensed acupuncturists to gain better business knowledge that can be applied to grow and build their practice.
I had a chance to sit down with the developer of Acupuncture Business School Andy Rosenfarb, L.Ac. and wanted to share with you some of the information we spoke about.
TCM: What is the difference between Acupuncture Business School and your traditional acupuncture school?
Andy: First of all we do not train acupuncturists to become acupuncturists. We are post acupuncture school and through continuing education we teach acupuncturists business and practice management courses. One of the main differences is that we are not a brick and mortar school but rather an online website that offers distance learning courses. We send course books to the acupuncturist so they can learn at home in their own time and leisure.
TCM: When you say continuing education, do you mean for personal and business growth or also for accreditation?
Andy: Both! Even students purchase these courses as they gear up for the real world as an acupuncture practitioner. For licensed acupuncturists we also offer continuing education credits (CEU’s) that are approved by the NCCAOM. This way the acupuncturist fulfills some of their CEU requirements while learning practice building techniques at the same time!
TCM: What would you say are your most popular courses right now?
Andy: Right now there are 2 very unique and exciting courses that are doing very well and really help to build the acupuncture practice.
The Fundamentals of Practice Management is a very popular course. This is due to the fact that the course takes a more holistic and eastern approach and takes a look from the inside-out, rather than looking from the outside-in. This approach works very well for acupuncturists and it is the reason it is doing very well.
The other very popular course is Building Your Acupuncture Practice through Your Website. This course is being talked about a lot and also has an exciting video preview that we rarely get to see in any other acupuncture CEU course. The fact is that more and more people are searching the internet looking for acupuncturists and it is important for licensed acupuncturists to appear high up in the search engines. Many acupuncturists now have websites and they will strongly benefit from this course.
TCM: This sounds like Acupuncture Business School is filling in a gap that has been needed to be filled for quite some time. What future plans do you have for Acupuncture Business School?
Andy: We already started to incorporate consulting for the acupuncturist and more courses will be added in the near future. Also, teleconferences, and eventually live seminars will be added. We are also open to adding other business courses developed by acupuncturists.
